I grew up in a small farming town outside Ithaca, New York where my family raised numerous animals including dogs, cats, goats, geese, and even a pot belly pig. All of our dogs were rescues or strays that wondered onto our 100 acre property. There were no leashed walks: just free roaming pack hikes through the woods with happy free range dogs. This is what I aspire to create with Squalicum Mountain Dogs.
I moved to Bellingham in 2012 to attend graduate school at WWU and never left. Like many people here, I was drawn in by the beautiful surroundings, outdoor recreation, and the dog loving culture Bellingham has to offer.
When I'm not hiking with dogs, I work as a Medical Laboratory Scientist for multiple hospitals in the area. You can also find me surfing the coast with my 3 legged dog George, powder chasing at Mt Baker, or playing music at the local venues around town with the band Marla Hooch.
